Bruce Springsteen: Wings For Wheels - The Making of Born To Run
I just finished watching 'Wings for Wheels' and was blown away by the level of detail that went into making each of the tracks and how Bruce pretty much told the band members what to play and when, whether it be a drum beat or sax solo. I guess he wasn't called 'The Boss' for nothing! I won't bother going into detail about what was said, as it's available on You Tube (see below for part 1) and is a must for fans or people who have never been sure about Springsteen. There's been a recent influx of Springsteen inspired bands (The Hold Steady, Arcade Fire, The Killers, The Gaslight Anthem) and bands who take their influences from the beach and summer nights (Wavves, Real Estate, Ducktails etc.). After watching the documentary it made me realise just how much I love that album and just how cinematic/epic/atmospheric/influential it actually is/was and that nothing beats the sax solo in 'Jungleland'!
Listen to 'Born To Run' on Spotify!
