Synopsis:
British Columbia has a reforestation program to restock vast tracts of land stripped by logging companies. DO IT WITH JOY is about a unique community: a group of people from widely varying backgrounds who come together each spring to plant trees in the vast logged areas of northern British Columbia.
For all of them, tree planting is a source of income, but more importantly it is a chance to share in the building of a self-sufficient community for the few months of the planting season.

A couple of months ago, over several glasses of sparkling italian wine and pizza, my friends at Swedish outdoor brand, Fjällräven, and I decided to collaborate on a video project that detailed how you get to popular hiking and camping destinations around New York City without the use of a car. The first of these 8mm videos, Breakneck Ridge, is up and running above. There are many more to come, so keep your eyes and ears out for ‘em.

Howard Weamer
Winters of My Life is a portrait of Howard Weamer. For the past 35 years he has spent his winters as a hutkeeper in Yosemite's backcountry. He fills his days writing, reading, photographing, and being an ambassador to mountain culture. This is a brief look into his world and why he chooses to stay.

UPDATE!
I'm insanely busy with work and enjoying the summer, so I've found it hard to keep my blog up to date and I'm also thinking of changing things a bit, so for now I'm gonna have a break and think of what to do next. Cold Splinters is my favourite blog at the moment and is inspiring me to something better! If you like the outdoors and good music, then it's gonna be your new favourite thing!
