NEW TRACK: The Black Keys - Tighten Up (2010)

You can listen to the new Black Keys single over on their Myspace page. Produced by Danger Mouse. Their new album is due out on 18th May and will be called 'Brothers', but unlike their last album, most of the tracks will be self-produced.

Broken Bells Release Debut (2010)

Danger Mouse and James Mercer (singer in the Shins) released their joint album, under the name Broken Bells, on Monday although I haven't got round to listening to it yet, I love 'The High Road', which you can watch below. One of the things I like best about Danger Mouse's work with other artists is that when you hear the songs it couldn't be anyone else other than them, but he still manages to add enough touches to let you know he's still there. The album is now up on spotify too for those of you with accounts! The album is still up on NPR too for those of you without Spotify!

Tor x Sufjan Stevens = IllinoiZe

 
This might not be new for some of you, but I just came across it now and as a big Sufjan Stevens fan and a massive hip-hop fan I think this is a pretty nice combination. Tor is a producer from Montreal and as with Danger Mouse's 'Grey Album' and Bullion's 'Pet Sounds: In the Key of Dee', he combined a mix of Sufjan Stevens songs with hip-hop songs from the likes of Outkast, Dj Premier and Aesop Rock to nice effect.
