My grandfather was in the military during the 50's and he was stationed in Alaska for a year. He never ceases to at least tell one story of his experience when I visit him.

Great photos.

Lucky you! Alaska's become a bit of an obsession for me since I moved to Sweden. Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to visit Alaska, but after my first trip to the Arctic Circle here in Sweden last summer and after experiencing some of the coldest temperatures I've ever experienced during my first winter, I've fallen in love with the Far North. Next year I'm planning to visit some of the National Parks in the north west of Sweden. One in particular, Sarek, is often labelled as the last wilderness area in Europe.

That sounds awesome! Being from the US and having traveled to no other foreign land besides Canada, I have rarely ever given thought to National Parks outside of the US. My ignorance will change immediately.

Sarek sounds incredible.
