If you haven't got Spotify, what have you been doing? It's pretty damn easy to get hold of a free account and whilst it is missing some essential albums, it's a nice thing to have alongside your mp3s, CDs and vinyls. Anyway, here's a playlist for 1971, with a load of excellent albums from the year. I tried to compile it with a little help from RYM. The list includes the likes of Al Kooper, The Doors, America, Amon Duul II, The Band, Black Sabbath, Gene Clark, Funkadelic, Cohen and Isaac Hayes. Misisng anything?
