COMING SOON: Julian Lynch - Droplet On A Hot Stone 7"

While you're waiting for Julian Lynch's  next full length, 'Mare', and are sick of waiting, why don't you pick up his new 7", 'Droplet on a Hot Stone' over on Underwater Peoples Records on the 21st June to tide you over. Be sure to read Julian's latest post about the chorus on the title track over on his blog.

"Julian Lynch is from Ridgewood, New Jersey. The songs featured on this 7” single were originally created for the 2008 album, Born2Run. The recordings contain both acoustic and electric guitar, a drum kit, a keyboard and Julian’s voice. Everything was recorded on a TASCAM Portastudio 424. While the initial taping began in Julian’s family basement (birthplace of the Alex Bleeker and The Freaks debut), the brunt of the work took place in an empty apartment in Madison, Wisconsin. In a new town with no furniture, Julian recorded the album.

Born2Run was originally made available as a tape by Wild Animal Kingdom Records, in 2009. Julian also produced 75 copies of the album on CD-R.  Since it’s minimal physical debut, Born2Run has been lovingly featured on countless MP3 Blogs such as Dayvanzombear, Forlorn-Valleys, Bee Boo Bee Bop, A Cassette Cathedral and Prisms of Fame. Julian’s music can now be found all across the world wide web, sweet messages often dangle beneath. Julian’s second LP, Mare, is coming out on Olde English Spelling Bee this summer."

Dam-Funk - I Hope You Know I'm Watching June (Unreleased)

COMING SOON: Seu Jorge and Almaz - S/T (2010)

Take a listen to the lead single, a cover of Roy Ayers 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine', off the upcoming Seu Jorge and Almaz project. Sounds nice! The album is due to be released on the 27th July on Now-Again Records and will be distributed by Stones Throw Records.

Seu Jorge - Everybody Loves The Sunshine

"Seu Jorge and Almaz – drummer Pupillo and guitarist Lucio Maia from the stalwart Nação Zumbi, with bassist and composer Antonio Pinto – came together naturally to record a song for a Walter Salles film. They enjoyed the experience so much that they recorded an entire album, free of convention, of music that inspired them: they covered songs famous within the Brazilian diaspora and added a psychedelic samba to some classic American and European soul tunes.

They enlisted producer and fellow Brasileiro Mario C. (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson) to put the finishing touches on the project. And now Seu Jorge and Almaz, looking to only “the music” and “common sense” as bandleader, spring forth with an album both warm and dark, psychedelic yet grounded, uplifting but at times somber. "

NEW: Cee-Lo Green - Georgia

The track will feature on Cee-Lo's upcoming album, 'The Lady Killer', his first solo album since 2004's 'Cee-Lo Green...Is The Soul Machine' and his first new material since Gnarl's Barkley's 2008 album 'The Odd Couple.'
